Variations on 'The Colorado Trail'

Written in 1958 as the result of a competition arranged by 'Guitar Review' magazine in the USA. Duarte didn't like the tune very much and was extremely reluctant to enter the competition. It was only after receiving a telegram, stating that the committee was holding open the competition deadline for his entry, that he finished the music. His entry won the first prize with 6/7 votes. Segovia chaired the judging committee.
