John W. Duarte, in a typically vivid-coloured shirt
Welcome to the website of John W. Duarte, the British guitar composer, arranger, teacher and writer. Duarte was a friend of many of the 20th century's most famous guitarists, including Segovia, John Williams, Ida Presti, Alirio Diaz and Sharon Isbin. His original works have featured on GRAMMY Award-winning recordings and you can view here a comprehensive discography, list of works and a biography.
« As a composer I have never given much thought to what posterity might think of me – I will not be here to know it! My aim is to write primarily for the living and hopefully to give pleasure. »
