Variations on an Italian Folk Song

Written in 2000 for the Italian guitarist, Carlo Marchione, to whom the music is also dedicated. The music was requested by Marchione's then wife as a birthday present, Duarte refused the offered fee. Marchione liked Suite Piemontese Op.46 so Duarte used the theme of the second movement, Canzona, as the source of the new variations.
