Tout en Ronde

Written in 1974 for the British guitarist, John Mills, and dedicated to him. The title comes from the French nursery song, Sur le pont d'Avignon, and the three dance movements reflect different rondo forms. Part of the Waltz was used as the sight-reading test for the ORTF Competition, Paris, France, in 1973. Robert Vidal, the organiser wrote, 'Thank you for the sight-reading piece. It is perfect and fair at the same time'.
