Sua Cosa (Wes Montgomery memorial)

Written in 1972, Angelo Gilardino suggested that Duarte should write a sort of Tombeau for the American jazz guitarist, Wes Montgomery, whom Duarte knew. The middle section quotes Mi Cosa, a composition by Montgomery. The score is headed 'To the memory of Wes Montgomery and to Angelo Gilardino, whose idea this was'. In 1986 Duarte suggested this may be the favourite work of his own (solo guitar), with its many associations and unique character. A revised edition was published in August 2022.
