Greek Suite (Greek meets Greek)

Written in 1968 and dedicated to the Athenian Guitar Duo (Evangelos and Liza). In a letter from Evangelos, April 1968, he asked for a piece based on Greek themes and enclosed some tunes for Duarte to consider. The complete work was received in Athens in September 1968, most of it having been written while on holiday in Scotland. Over the years the Duo refined how they played the work and made several changes to the printed score. Duarte was always in agreement with these changes.
